Community partnership has been described as a veritable means of effective crime prevention as it is proactive policing driven.

This disclosure was made by the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Adamu  Abubakar Mohammed earlier in the week at 9thmile Division of the Nigeria Police, Enugu State Command during a get together organized by the officers and men of the Division which also attracted the attendance of the relevant stakeholders and partners in crime prevention within 9thmile and its environs.

According to a release made available to CEOAFRICA online news by the Enugu State Command of the Nigerian Police, CP Adamu, who was represented by the Divisional Police

Officer 9thmile corner Ngwo in Enugu State, Csp Odoh Michael Nwafor, community partnership is effective way of policing an environment as it encourages sharing information with the police about crime and criminality and also assisting police to identify the would be hoodlums in a community and to that extent make the entire area safe and secured.

Adamu however thanked the stake holders of 9thmile community as well as other members of the public especially a neighbourhood security watch outfit known as Goodnews security outfit for their strong partnership with the police towards eradication of crime and criminality in the area and urge them not to relent as security is everybody's business.

He used the occassion to charge them to always remain law abiding and not to take laws into their hand but to always partner with the police to ensure safety and security of the area.

Highlight of the occassion was the formal recognition of the leader of Goodnews Neighbourhood Security Daniel Eze, and his colleague Vincent Ogbata as Police Most Valuable Security Collaborator in 9thmile.
