Illegal Structures to be Demolished in Borno State

NIGERIA (Borno) – Owners of illegal structures in Maiduguri, Borno State Capital, has been warned by the government of the state to remove their structures or face the wrath of the law.

This was disclosed on Friday by the state Commissioner for Housing and Rural Electrification, Alhaji Sugun Mai-Male, when the committee on the demolision of illegal structures visited him in Maiduguri.

According to the commissioner, the state government would not entertain the manner at which illegal structures spreads across the capital city.

He added that the government has concluded plans to build more houses for the civil servants, while it would intensify its efforts to provide solar street lamps in the ongoing 1,000 Housing Estate in Maiduguri.
