Driver dead, 2 injured in Ogun auto-crash

Aid driver of a Toyota Sienna died at the spot of accident at Ogbere stretch of the Sagamu , Ore expressway when his vehicle collided with a truck on Wednesday morning while two persons were injured.

The driver of the Toyota Sienna marked AGL 141 EL which was conveying poultry products at that time drove against traffic and crashed into a Volvo truck with registration number FKJ 27 XT.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Tunde Akinbiyi, “the remains of the driver were deposited at the morgue of the state General Hospital, Ijebu Ode.”

“Our operatives at the scene of the accident said the driver of the Toyota Sienna drove against the traffic and rammed into a Volvo truck coming on its rightful lane.

“The driver who was the only one in the car died instantly due to the impact of the head-on collision.

“Why should someone drive against the traffic? It is a breach of the Highway Code, it is unacceptable,” Akinbiyi said.
