NIGERIA (Plateau)- Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has lashed out at the Governor of Central Bank, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, when he warned the latter that nobody is bigger than the Federal Government.

Jang said yesterday that the CBN governor must watch his utterances regarding comments making round that President Jonathan had asked for his recognition.

According to a statement released from the Nigeria Governor’s Forum media office, signed by Kassim Yakubu, Jang said the CBN governor should give way for those who would have cordial relationship with President Jonathan.

“If the relationship between the CBN governor and President Jonathan has become frosty, it is only logical that the President becomes uncomfortable, knowing how sensitive the Central Bank is to his transformation agenda.

“Moreover, we elected the President to run the country and so we cannot be held hostage by an appointee of government if it is true that Mr. President has asked for the resignation of the CBN governor.” Jang said.

The factional Chairman of the NGF said Nigerians gave their mandate to President Jonathan due to the trust they have in him and it is imperative that he should be given free hand to operate without unnecessary distraction.

He, however, called on Nigerians to continue to watch out for those usual beneficiaries of conflict who would seek to make an issue out of this by bending the facts to suite what he described as their mischievous agenda.
