CEOAFRICA Sources gathered that Obasanjo visited the Popoyemoja palace of the Imperial Majesty Oba Saliu Adetunji, alongside a former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Olayiwola Olakojo who is also the Mayegun of Ibadan land and Professor Afolabi Oladapo, on Wednesday morning.

Though it was not confirmed if the visitors came on behalf of the governor.

It was learnt that they arrived the palace of Olubadan  around 7 a.m.

At the close-door meeting, they were said to have told the monarch to forget what has happened and withdraw the ongoing court case, adding that the governor means well for the monarch.

After thanking the visitors, the monarch was said to have told them that the governor is his son, he has nothing against the governor, explaining that he as a custodian of history, and he must uphold the history of Ibadanland.

“If I do so, history and posterity will not forgive me. Let’s leave the matter as it is. Whatever the court says, I will abide. The case is not about me, many people are interested. We are not violent, we believe in rule of law and that is why we went to court,” the monarch was quoted to have told the visitors.
