The much publicised Pharmacy Week 2017 which was organised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Oyo Branch featured a lot of activities to enlighten as well as discourse on the role of pharmacy in National Development.
The week-long programme with the theme ‘’Pharmaceutical Industry: Panacea to National Economic Recovery’’ started on the 29th September with Prayers at the University College Hospital (UCH) Mosque and ended with dinner/award night to round it up on Thursday 5th October 2017 at the Daylan Events and Conference Centre, Ijokodo, Sango, Eleyele Road, Ibadan..
Highlights of the ceremony includes: Health sensitization workshop on safe use of drugs organized for members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Oyo State Branch, Scientific sessions, Exhibition and Dinner/Award to Distinguished personalities which includes: Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, the Executive Governor of Oyo State was awarded in Recognition of his Immense Contribution Towards the Access of Healthcare and Quality Medicine in Oyo State, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari for his Effort on Free Medical Check-up, Treatment and Provision of Drugs for 10,000 Members of his Constituency, Deputy Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Abdulwasi Musa, for his laudable contribution to the legislation on healthcare bills in Oyo State, Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr Azeez Popoola Adedotun, for his Humanitarian Services Towards the Realization of Quality Medical Services in Oyo State.
