Six Northern governors of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja on Friday.

The governors are all from the north – atteneded Juma’at service with the president and accompanied him to his residence after the service.

Those in attendance were Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe), Mohammed Abdullahi (Bauchi), Yahaya Bello (Kogi) and Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano)

Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the president, also attended the meeting.

The reason for the meeting was not known, as none of the governors spoke with state house correspondents on their way out.

Earlier in the day, Buhari received members of the Buhari Support Group (BSG) at Aso Rock.

They had told journalists that Buhari has no option but to run in 2019.
