The Force Commander (FC) Major General Lucky Irabor of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has urged troops of Sector2 of MNJTF to rout insurgents within their Area of Operation (AO).
Major General Lucky Irabor , made the statement during a two day working visit to the Sector 2 Command from 7-8 November 2017.
This was contained in a press release signed by Colonel Mustapha Anka, the Military Public Information Officer and made available to CEOAFRICA.

The Force Commander was earlier welcomed and hosted with a Guard of Honour mounted by the troops of Sector2 at the helipad, Baga Sola.
Brigadier General Yahaya Siro, the Commander of the Sector in his welcome address, thanked the MNJTF Boss for the visit and assured him that the formation will do everything possible to flush the remaining insurgents from the region to enable complete humanitarian activities to take place.
A detailed brief on the activities, achievements, challenges and prospects of the formation was presented to the visiting Force Commander.

General Irabor in his response, promised to look into the challenges, especially in terms of logistics and general wellbeing of the troops to enable them perform their duties.
General Irabor and his entourage proceed to subsectors1 and 2 at Gubuwa and Kangalam where he was also briefed by the various Commanding Officers(Cos).

The subsector Commanders maintained that constant aggressive day and night patrols, domination of the Main Supply of Route(MSR) forced a lot of the Bokon Haram Terrorists(BHTs) to surrender.
The Headquarters Sector2 received a lot of surrendered Boko Haram Terrorists few days ago.
The MNJTF Boss remarked that “I promised to come and spend some time with you; I am here to fulfill that promise”. He also used the medium to commend them for a good conduct and urged them not to nest on their oars until Boko Haram terrorists is totally eradicated.
General Irabor assured the troops that amphibious capabilities and necessary logistics will be provided as soon as possible.

Addressing the troops, the Force Commander reaffirmed that the president of the Republic of Chad, His Excellency Idris DerbyItno, other presidents and Heads of States of Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon and Benin have mandated MNJTF to do everything possible to bring the BHT to an end.
In continuation of his visit, General Lucky Irabor paid a courtesy call on the Commander Zone 4 Operation in Lake Chad, Major General Dahat Seid.

While at Zone 4 Headquarter, the Force Commander thanked the Zonal Commander for all the coordination and cooperation given to troops of the MNJTF.
General Seid in his response assured MNJTF that together we will achieve the mandate. He told General Irabor that “I felt honoured for your visit to my Headquarters, I know you have the will and capability to bring peace and security in the LCBC region”
During the 2days visit, the Force Commander and entourage visited the Divisional Officer (DO) Baga-Sola.
While at the Divisional Officers office, the MNJTF Boss and his entourage where received and welcomed by Ahamat Adoum Seid, staff and the traditional ruler of Baga Sola.

General Irabor appreciated the cordial relationship that exists between the civil authority and military he urged all stakeholders to sustain the tempo.
The Divisional Officer in his response thanked the Force Commander for the visit and commended the MNJTF for bringing peace and security in Baga- Sola as people now go about doing their normal life activities such as cattle rearing, farming and fishing amongst others.

While at the Internally Displaced Persons’(IDP) and the Refugee Camps Daras Salam which comprised IDPs from Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon and Sudan, the FC was received and given adequate brief by Abdullahi Mahamad Djimet, Regional Deligate of National Commission.
General Irabor used the forum to interact with camp officials, members of the NGOs, IDPs and the Refugees. He assured them that the Command is doing everything possible to clear the remaining insurgents to enable them to return back to their different localities. Highpoint of the event witnessed cash donations by the Force Commander.

General Irabor and entourage thereafter, proceeded to BoL where he was received by the Secretary General of the Governor of BoL.
The MNJTF Boss was accompanied to the visit by the Deputy Force Commander (DFC) Brigadier General Mahamat Moussa Djoui, Chiefs of Cells and representatives of the African Union Mission Support Team (AUMST).
