The Oyo State chapter of the Accord Party on Tuesday condemned the appointment of liaison officers by the state Governor, Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, describing it as a ploy to further plunder the lean resources of the state.

The party's Publicity Secretary, Dr. Nureni Adeniran in a statement in Ibadan, posited that the fresh appointment clearly showed that the Governor Ajimobi's led government was not ready to conduct local government election.

According to him, the appointment could not in any way better the lives of the people in the state and it would not only create heavy financial burden for the council areas but lead to fresh friction in the local governments. The party noted that any responsible government must accord greater priority to the general well being of the electorate but instead of doing this, the current administration was only committed to providing jobs for the boys at the expense of the general public giving the fact that the present caretaker committee were feeding fat on the state resources without being It maintained that the prevailing development had further established the obvious fact that the present administration was a pure novice in the art of good and effective governance.

"Sincerely, our great party, Accord party would not in any way be part of this arrant phoney of plundering state resources for the sake of favouring party men and women", the party insisted. The party, therefore, urged men and women of goodwill in the state to see the present appointments as a means of pauperising the people to ensure that they are perpetually wallowing in the ocean of poverty.

"To us in the Accord Party, we want to call on our people to view the appointment as another ploy to create avenues for APC party members to further milk the state resources. "Instead of finding way of providing gainful employment to the unemployed and reabsorbed the sacked YES-O men who were being paid peanut,  the Ajimobi led government believes in paying Peter to rob Paul with the resources of the state," it added.

The party, therefore, urged the people of the state to remain calm and be resolute to have a change in government in 2015, saying the Accord party is very much ready to sanitise the state and returned hope and joy in the lives of the people of the state.
