Police Arrests Two People over the Death of an 18-Year Old Girl in Ondo

NIGERIA (Ondo)- The Nigerian Police Force, Ondo State Command, has arrested a quack nurse and one Joseph Endurance, over the untimely death of Omolayo Afolabi, 18, who died after terminating a two-month pregnancy.

The incident happened at Iju/Itaogbolu area of the state.

It was gathered that the quack nurse, Favour Adebiyi, was approached by the deceased to help her abort the pregnancy she had for Joseph Endurance. She was said to have been introduced to the nurse by one of her friends since her boyfriend was too young to father a child.

According to what was later gathered, the nurse was said to have given her some drugs to use which led to some complications and she died 24 hours having endured much pain which later became unbearable..

The news of her death later got to her family members following which one of them reported the case at the Iju Police station.

While confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson, Wole Ogodo, said the quack nurse and the boyfriend of the deceased are in detention, while the corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital in Iju for autopsy.

According to him, the quack nurse had confessed to the crime, adding that they have been transferred to the CID division of the command for further questioning.
