
NIGERIA (Enugu) - The operatives of the Ogui Division of the Nigeria Police Force, Enugu State Command, has arrested a car stealing syndicate and also recovering the alleged stolen car.
This was made known to CEOAFRICA online news by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebere Amaraizu who said that the police, having gathered based on information received that a Toyota Sienna Car with registration no FKJ 470 XD parked at a mechanic workshop along Ebila street Idaw River, Enugu, is suspected stolen, Police operatives from Ogui Division moved swiftly and recovered the said vehicle on January 21, at the said mechanic workshop and closer observation of the vehicle revealed some contact numbers of the alleged owner.
According to DSP Amaraizu, the alleged owner has been contacted and he has revealed that the said car was stolen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State sometime in June,2013, of which a complaint was made in that regard at Rivers State.
In another development, one Chigozie Ogbonna believed to be two years, has died in an inferno that allegedly occurred at Ameke Ngwo, Enugu last week, while one Ugochukwu including the mother sustained various degrees of burns.
It was gathered that the inferno allegedly started when Ugochukwu’s mother tried to pour kerosene into an already lit lantern during which explosion occurred and touched both the woman and her son, Ugochukwu, who were forced to run out of the house, while they left two-year old Chigozie Ogbonna, hence he was allegedly burnt to death.
It was further revealed that the alleged incident occurred at about 8pm on that fateful day.
Meanwhile, Ugochukwu has been confirmed dead on his way to Our Refuge Hospital, 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo.
Deceased corpses have been deposited at Our Saviour’s Hospital Mortuary, 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo.
