Super Eagles and Cardiff City Striker, Osaze Odemwingie, has completed a switch to Stoke City in a swap deal for the Potters striker, Kenwyne Jones.

The 32-year old Nigerian has struggled to pick up form at the Welsh side since joining in May and has fallen out of favour with the new manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer, while Jones was frozen out of the Stoke City team having failed to play against Liverpool.

In his reaction, the Stoke City Manager, Mark Hughes expressed delight about the capturing of the Nigerian.

"We're delighted to have signed Peter.

"Things haven't perhaps gone as well for him at Cardiff as he would have hoped and he's really keen to start afresh with us,” he said.

Odemwingie has signed an 18-month deal with the club, but the length of Jones's Cardiff contract has not been disclosed.

While announcing on the club’s website, Cardiff City said: "Kenwyne Jones' move from Stoke City to the club has today been finalised, subject to Football Association clearance. The striker will be available for selection for the first time this Saturday in the Barclays Premier League home game against Norwich City."

Odemwingie, who scored just two goals in 17 matches for Cardiff following his £2m switch from West Brom, could feature for his new side in Wednesday's Premier League game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
