The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State was on Tuesday deepened following the cancellation of stakeholders' meeting on the sharing formula for N15million Presidency's Xmas/New Year largesse to the state.

The largesse, CEOAFRICA learnt on Tuesday that had torn the party members apart. The meeting of all stakeholders  was earlier scheduled for Bodija, Ibadan at the residence of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala yesterday was cancelled  as the  former Deputy-National Chairman of the party who also doubles as the party's leader in the state, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, announced the cancellation of the meeting on Tuesday.

A source said the former governor would host the meeting where issues regarding how to consolidate on the gains of Abuja's parley of three months ago and sharing formula for Presidency's Xmas/New Year largesse to the state would be discussed. But Adeojo in an sms he personally sent to party's stakeholders yesterday, a copy of which was stumbled upon by CEOAFRICA stated that the meeting of Oyo State PDP convened by him as a former Deputy- National Chairman and BOT Member and scheduled to hold on Wednesday 29th Jan 2014 at former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala's residence is hereby cancelled.

His reason, was that some people have politicized the stake holders meeting because the convener, Chief Yekinni AdeoJo made his intention  known  that he had never met  or discuss  with Jumoke AkinJide or any body on the N15million mentioned in the publications as contained in the newspapers published (Nigeria Tribune & THISDAY of Tuesday 28 Jan ). "Further information about the meeting would be announced later," he said.

It would be recalled that former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo state convened a stake holders meeting for today (Wednesday) over the sharing formula for Presidency's Xmas/New Year largesse to the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Indications that the largesse which was supposedly meant to be handed over to the party's state Chairman, Alhaji Yinka Taiwo in December but given to another high ranking leader (names withheld) of the party because Taiwo was allegedly not available at the time, would be tabled and shared to calm fraying nerves within the party.

A source said that all was still not well within the crisis-ridden umbrella party following a statement credited to Alhaji Rasheed Olopoenia yesterday that the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide had not been contributing to build the party but instead promoting another faction at the expense of larger interest of PDP.
