
The Interim National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo on Tuesday inaugurated the Oyo State Harmonized Committee of the party with a call on members to unite and wrestle power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the federal level. The former Ekiti State governor who noted an omission on the list assured that it would be rectified at the party's NEC meeting in Abuja. He said the objection on the interim executive team list had been noted and promised to rectify it in due course.
The list included the state governor, his deputy, law makers representing the state at the National Assembly and some executive members of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the Congress for Political Change (CPC). He gave the names of the executive members to include the chairman of the defunct ACN in the state, Chief Akin Oke who is now the chairman of APC. Others are Honourable Mojeed Olaya (Secretary), Rasak Folorunsho (Treasurer), Sunday Adepoju (Publicity Secretary) and Prince Lukmon Tijani (Organising Secretary).
Speaking, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, while appreciating the efforts of the national leaders for the inauguration of the APC in the state assured that the committee would be patriotic and ensure that the people were united, participate fully and mobilize for victory at the top. He said with the spirit of give and take, the party had come to stay in the state. The governor who warned against fighting among member, "we fought for the unity and progress of the party and the people.
He appealed to the people to unite for the progress of everybody, saying "we must learn how to forgive. We should sheath our swords and work together. "There has never been anytime for the opposition to take over power at the centre than now," he said.
