South African Presidency has released a statement that former President, Nelson Mandela is showing improvement in health, CEOAFRICA.com gathered from Pretoria in South Africa.

According to a press release credited to South Africa President, Jacob Zuma, people were urged to keep on praying for the anti-apartheid leader.

Furthermore, Mr.Zuma made it known that Mandela Children Fund is embarking on building a 238-bed academic and paediatric referral facility to serve children across Africa.

"Madiba loves children and wants the best for them. He wants us to ensure that they have a better future," he said.

The hospital, according to President Zuma, will be one of the most inspiring legacies of Mandela, as he invites all sectors to actively support the project.

It would be recalled that Nelson Mandela was admitted at private Medi Clinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria for recurring lung infection since 8 June.

Madiba became the first democratically elected president of South Africa after spending 27 years in prison following his arrest for taking up arms to fight against the apartheid regime.
