No fewer than 5,200 supporters of the lawmaker representing Egbeda State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Ibrahim Bolomope on Thursday formally decamped to All Progressives Congress (APC). The supporters decided to join the lawmaker from Accord Party (AP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bolomope had in December last year decamped from AP to APC on the floor of the house. The 5,200 Accord Party members who were drawn from 11 wards within Egbeda Local Government, were immersed into APC by Mr Bolomope at a APC meeting, held at SDP Secretariat, Old-Ife Road, Ibadan, Oyo State capital. Bolomope said:"this meeting is my first time of attending a local government meeting with the APC members and I thank God that the party members are peace loving people. For the first time I see decent people, I see people that believe in change and I felt extremely happy being a member of APC now."
According to him, I have brought in 5,200 of my followers who believe in change and progress of the state. "In fact, I am thrilled with this mammoth crowd that welcome me, I didn't even know that people would organise band stand and people even talk it over now that the change has really come to Egbeda and I'm grateful that God is with us," he added.
The lawmaker urged the people of the state to continue to support APC and the government of Governor Abiola Ajimobi led administration in the state.
