NIGERIA (Rivers)- A 20-foot container filled with high-calibre ammunition was intercepted yesterday in Port-Harcourt by the State Security Service (SSS).

According to news gathered from sources, the vessel which carried the lethal cargo, MV Iron Trader, came from Panama.

The suspects arrested in connection with the illegal importation of the ammunition were the captain of the vessel and six crew members.

The container was being guarded yesterday by a combined team of SSS operatives, soldiers and policemen.
