Over 500 widows in Oyo state under the umbrella of Ijewuru Widows Foundation on Friday bestowed an award of Excellence on the Wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi (JP) in recognition of her outstanding performance in ensuring widows are adequately taken of and empowered financially.

The Ijewuru widows foundation, a 500 member group led by Evangelist Funmilayo Ogunsola also promised to give 100 percent support to Senator Ajimobi's vision to ensure that his transformation agenda for the state succeeds.The widows further promised to support the 2015 agenda of Senator Ajimobi based on their conviction that he has the interest of the masses at heart. "We want to assure you that at election time, we will go out enmasse to vote for the return of Senator Ajimobi into office and we are ready to join you on the campaign trail as we are members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).”We know the significance of your effort in making life better for the widows and less privileged in the society"

Evangelist Ogunsola also appealed to Mrs Ajimobi to further assist widows by supporting their quest for a legislation that will ensure that widows are not maltreated or deprived of their properties after spouse's death.

Mrs Ajimobi thanked the widows and reiterated her commitment to welfare of widows in the state She added that her office would include members of the foundation in all its empowerment schemes.
