NIGERIA (Lagos)- Two employees of Iluobe Petroleum and Gas Limited, Femi Akinkugbe (28) and Jimoh Ibrahim (39) were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing, at the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Akinkugbe, the manager of the filling station who reside at No.12, Awoyokun Street, Onipanu, Lagos, and Ibrahim, a resident of No. 24, Kosoko Street, Ijesha, were said to have stolen their employer’s N3.5 million.

During the court session, the prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, told the court that the offences were committed on November 15, 2013 at No. 25, Eshit, Ijesha.

“The accused obtained 33, 000 litres of diesel valued at N3.5 million belonging to their employer under the pretext of selling the product and giving him the proceeds later.

“They sold the product and converted the money to personal use,’’ Nwosu said.
The offence, according to him, contravened section 285, 312 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

They were granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum by the Chief Magistrate, Olatunbosun Abolarinwa, before adjourning the case to March 13, 2014 for mention.
