Super Eagles Attacker, Ejike Uzoenyi
After putting up a good display at the just concluded African Nations Championship where he was voted the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, Super Eagles and Rangers International petit striker, Ejike Uzoenyi, is on the verge of nicking a deal with a top South African side, Orlando Pirates.
It was also gathered that two other members of the squad, Azubuike Egwuekwe and Solomon Kwambe are also on the verge of securing deals with other top South African clubs, as the trio stayed back in South Africa to conclude their respected deals.
According to NTNFootball.com, Warri Wolves skipper Egwuekwe’s likely destination is Bidvest Wits. The “Clever Boys” had been searching for a top-class centre back after releasing Musa Bilankulu and due to the fact that Matthew Booth is not getting any younger.
Giant Egwuekwe is the exact type of centre back that Coach Gavin Hunt loves to work with – tall, good in the air, powerful and composed.
MTNFootball.com reports that the likely destination of Sunshine Stars right back Solomon Kwanbe is not known yet.
Speaking about the development, the former media officer of Warri Wolves, Timi Ebikagboro said Egwueke has undergone a medical with the club in South Africa
“Super Eagles and Warri Wolves defender Azubuike Egwuekwe having done his medical and with Emmanuel Ibru on the ground in South Africa to finalise the deal will hopefully sign for Wits FC of South Africa, while Ejike Uzoenyi will likely sign for Orlando Pirates of South Africa,” MTNFootball.com quoted Ebikagboro as saying on his Facebook page.
