Ajimobi, 5 others dragged to court over APC Harmonized Committee

 A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Barrister Adebayo Shittu has dragged the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the acting National Vice Chairman, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and four others to court over the inauguration of the party's harmonized committee.

The claimant in the suit number 21/128/14 and dated February 6, 2014, was seeking a mandatory order directing the defendants to reconstitute the Oyo State APC Harmonization Committee to include the names of the claimants, Alhaja Hamdalat Awwal and Rotimi Owoade as the representatives of the defunct CPC in the said committee instead of Alhaji Muritala Oderinde, Deaconess Esther Adedokun and Alhaji Abideen Oladimeji who was no more the chairman of the defunct CPC in the state.

He was asking for an order on the defendants to allow the claimant contribute inputs to the process of recruitment and training of registration officers at all levels. He was also seeking an order on the defendants to allow the claimant inspect the stick of registration materials already delivered by the 1st and 3rd defendants to the 2nd defendant including their deployment to all local governments and electoral wards.

The claimant was seeking an order of injunction restraining the defendants jointly and severally, whether by themselves or through their agents, privies and assigns from taking any steps towards the operations of the Oyo State Harmonization Committee or the party membership registration exercise in the state without including and involving the claimant or accommodating his interest.

When the case was mentioned on Thursday, the defendants were not in court, as the case was served on them less than 48 hours before hearing. The presiding judge, Justice M.L. Abimbola adjourned hearing till February 17.
