NIGERIA (Osun)-Senator Iyiola Omisore, who was the former Deputy Governor of Osun State under the leadership of Chief Bisi Akande, will formally declare his governorship ambition today under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The occasion which will hold in Osogbo, the state capital, is expected to be witnessed by prominent politicians across the country such as Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, PDP Governors, members of the National Assembly and PDP Executive members.

However, in another development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned its members to steer clear the campaign ground and desist from any act that could jeopardize the peace of the state.

This was made known in a statement released by the Interim Chairman of the APC in the state, Elder ‘Lowo Adebiyi.

He said, “Authentic information has reached the All Progressives Congress that the People’s Democratic Party intends to create bloody mayhem in Osogbo tomorrow,(today) when one of its  aspirants, Mr. Iyiola Omisore declares his intention to contest for the PDP’s ticket in the August gubernatorial election.

 “This is to forestall the actualisation of the violence that the PDP intends to characterise the next
gubernatorial election with”.

The party advised the APC’s members and  supporters to concentrate on the on-going party’s registration exercise in order to make it a grand success.
