Daniel Tahan- Gafera a 40-year-old man has been apprehended by the Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for allegedly defiling an eight- year-old girl in Kurikyo area of the Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The suspect was said to have also attempted to strangle the minor after raping her.

Parading the Benue State indigene alongside six other suspects on Tuesday in Lafia, the NSCDC Commander, Muhammud Gidado-Fari, said the suspect was arrested following a series of complaints made by the parents of the victim, adding that his men caught the suspect while trying to kill her.

Tahan- Gafera, however, denied trying to kill his victim, adding that he merely wanted to have sex with her.
