British Royal Mint has presented a new coin to commemorate the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and his American actress fiancée, Meghan Markle.
The £5 coin, which costs up to £1,890 to buy, shows the bride-to-be and her prince “looking lovingly into each other’s eyes”. Prince Harry, 33, and his American actress fiancée posed for the portraits used on the Royal Mint souvenir during a private sitting at Kensington Palace.
The new coin marks Meghan Markle’s first appearance on a UK coin produced by the Royal Mint.
The Royal Mint said: “Following the announcement of their engagement, the Royal Mint was granted a private sitting with Prince Harry and Meghan at Kensington Palace. The setting of their meeting was relaxed and informal, which is reflected in the portrait of the couple. The pair can be seen looking lovingly into each other’s eyes and highlights the easy familiarity and connection between the royal duo.”
This is the second time Harry has featured on a coin. He was the face of an Alderney coin by the Royal Mint in 2005 to mark his 21st birthday.
Harry and 36-year-old Meghan’s Royal Wedding will take place on May 19
