Honorable representing Ibarapa East and Ido federal constituency of Oyo State under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) said he almost lost his life at the just concluded Ward Congress of APC.
He disclosed this on Tuesday in an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA Correspondent in Abuja. He described the starting point of the just concluded APC Ward Congress as one marred with violence. “The starting point was so rough that I almost lost my life, but I thank God who spared my life; otherwise, I would have died. I saw fire when the thugs invaded the Party’s secretariat throwing stones and hurdles, even gun shots were booming from different angles, At the end of the day we went back determined, we got it done and fortunately, there was no record of violence in any ward.”
Honorable Adepoju advised the elected Ward members to carry the banner of the party in a way that everyone including children that are still crawling will want to join the party. He asked them to be humane and see themselves as not being better than the ones who have not gotten the mandate to represent or lead, but to look at it as a privilege to serve others.”
He also called on those who lost to accept defeat and embrace the winners, as such would foster progress of the party.
Reacting to the sudden death of the Speaker of the State,Hon. Adepoju described the loss as a monumental one to the people of Ibarapa in particular, and Oyo State in general, such that will take a long time before he can be replaced. He prayed that such occurrence will never be witnessed again.
Honorable Sunday sympathized with the family of the deceased and prayed that God will uphold them.
While assessing the performance of the Late Speaker, he said nothing bad has been recorded against him since he assumed the Leadership of the State House of Assembly in 2015. “He discharges his duties diligently, irrespective of the fact that Oyo State ranks high in intellectuals whom would challenge any bad conduct from a leader, yet the Late Speaker never had any problem with anyone, He tried his best”
