ANEXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH HONORABLE SUNDAY ADEPOJU:

Question: Can we  meet you sir?

Answer: My name is Honorable Sunday Adepoju, representing Ibarapa and Ido Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).

Question: What is your perception about the just concluded APC Ward Congress?

Answer: The starting point was so rough that I almost lost my life, but I thank God who spared my life because I would have died. I saw fire that day when the thugs invaded the Party’s Secretariat throwing stones even guns were booming from different angles.

At the end of the day we went back determined, because in democracy, people that are determined will see to it, we got it done, and fortunately, we never recorded any violence in any Local Government so far.

The Governor has addressed the people that the Congress was peaceful.

I was in my Local Government I monitored it, went from one Collation center to the other, there was no violence. It was a good exercise at the end of the day and those who have followed it the regulation of the party were elected.

Question: What is your advice to the successful elected member from the bedrock of your party?

Answer: My advice for the elected ones is that they  should carry the banner of the party in a way that even children that are still crawling will be willing to join the party. They should look as themselves as the lucky ones because they are not better than the ones who did not get the mandate to represent or lead but look at it that “we are all one and united family”.

It is their turn today and it will be the turn of the other side tomorrow.

And to those who lost, they should forge ahead and be supportive. The post is not an elective post where those that were elected can take decisions and make money, except the little recognition attached to it.

Question: The state congress comes up on the 12 of May, what would you advise that the Party corrects and emulate from the Just Concluded Congress?

Answer: The crisis that had been witnessed at the initial stage will not be there again. I will advise the party and even the Chief Executive of the State to allow peace to reign. People have gone; they have done the work so the Local Executive should be elected to carry on the affairs of the party because the Party is greater than any individual.

Question: Recently the State lost the Speaker of House of Assembly, generally speaking, how can you assess his performance while he was alive?

Answer: Before I talk about his performance, the loss is a monumental one to Ibarapa in particular and Oyo State in general, it is a tragic in the sense that the man is very good. It is a position that will take a long time before we can produce someone like him, so it is an occurrence we never pray to witness again in ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria.

Going to his performance, so far so good, since 2015 when he assumed leadership, I have never heard anything bad about him in respect of discharging his responsibilities, fortunately he was a lawyer, a very good one and he carried people along.

Oyo State is one of the states where we have intellectuals that can challenge you anytime, for him to manage without any serious problems; he tried his best for the state.

Question: What is our condolence message to the family, State House and the entire Oyo Citizens?

Answer: My condolence message to them is that they should take solace in God, God gives and God takes, there is nothing we can do, death is a debt that everybody owes and we are going to pay at our appointed time, so, he came, he saw, he played his part and he is gone. All of us should pray for his repose and remember the family in our prayers.

Not only in prayers alone but in rendering assistance to the family he left behind especially his aged parents and his children. The children are just too young not to have parents.

Question: Do you have any other thing to say?

Answer: What I have to say is that Nigerians should pray for us so that our party will be able to deliver better. We should all be our brother’s keeper irrespective of religion, ethnic, nationality and what a view so that the country will be peaceful.
