Real Madrid's coach Zinedine Zidane has called for an unsual press conference for 1100 GMT on Thursday just days after winning the Champions League for the third year in a row.

“At 1pm, Zinedine Zidane will appear before the media,” the club said in a statement, without giving details about the reason for the press conference.

The 45-year-old coach had been under pressure to win the European crown after finishing way off the pace behind La Liga winners Barcelona.

Real beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final in Kiev on Saturday, making Zidane the first coach in history to win three successive Champions League titles.
