In an unconfirmed report reaching CEOAfrica about the bye-election currently going on at the Ibarapa State constituency to fill the vacant position of the late Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Michael Adeyemo,the People’s Democractic Party (PDP) is leading in the six wards in Ibarapa East while the All Progressive Party(APC) is leading the four wards in Lanlate.

According to Mr Mutiu Agboke, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State,seven parties are fielding candidates for the vacant position.

They are: Accord Party, People’s Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, Fresh Democratic Party, Hope Democratic Party, Nigerian Peoples Congress and the Mega Party of Nigeria. While Kunle Adeyemo flying the APC flag, PDP is fielding Debo Ogundoyin, one of the sons of late industrialist from Eruwa, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin.
