The Local Government Election in River State has commenced.

The Director of Public Affairs, Sarah Hope expressed optimism in the performance of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.

Although, the election was supposed to start at 9.a.m. but by the time of this report none of the two pooling units visited by CEOAfrica correspondent at Port Harcourt 1 and Port Harcourt 2 has started.

The observation was however, defended by the Public Relation Officer (PRO), ‘‘due to differential circulation of material, election might not start at the same but election will definitely hold in all the units,’’ she said.

The INEC office in Rivers is filled with suppose adhoc staffs that were probably dropped, probably with the Nigeria factor.
