The Consultation and planning workshop on African Languages and the Cyberspace which took place in Gaborone, Botswana between 21st and 22nd of June 2018, witnessed United Nations ambassadors from different countries in the continent.

The workshop focused on Computational linguistics, Broadcasting/Cloud Publicity, Folktale digitalization, Robotic language technology networking and software development, Corpus development, in order to surmount the challenges facing the lack of effective presence of African languages on the cyberspace and determine the way forward to increase their presence and apply human language technology to them.

Recall that, a Nigeria based digital expert and founder of CEOAfrica media platform , Mr Cletus Ilobanafor delivered a lecture on ‘‘The Use of Online TV to promote African Languages and Africa as a Continent’’ at the workshop on Friday June 22.
