NAIRA rain as Hon. Sugar Unveils Two Awe-Inspiring Books

It was naira rain Friday at the launching of Hon. Sugar’s two inspiring books titled ‘The Might of An African Youth In Leadership and They Won’t Tell You This About Sugar’ at Banquet Hall, Premier Hotel Ibadan.

The beautifully written texts, launched on Friday July 6, 2018, witnessed the presence of prominent traditional rulers led by The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurasheed Akanbi, who launched the books with the sum of 40 million naira, followed by Ogun state governorship aspirant Hon Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu with the sum of 5 million naira, the speaker of the house of representatives Abuja, represented by Hon. Wole Oke launched the books with an undisclosed amount of money.

Meanwhile, an anonymous also launched the book for 25 million naira, Prince Adeniyi Oladeinde with an undisclosed amount but supported Hon. Sugar with seven digits figure, Sheikh Olanrewaju also launched the books with 2 million naira while, the Aare Atunluse of Owo kingdom, Aare Apesin of Akure kingdom and Chairman, Board of Directors of Pacific International Drilling, Chief, Prince ( Dr) Rotimi Ibidapo with the sum of 2 million naira and many more royalties, renowned business tycoons, colleagues in the political field from different states, dignitaries from Nigeria and United Kingdom.

The book launch which was a two-in-one programme, saw to the fundraising of 2Billion Naira for OSF community development.

The Federal lawmaker representing the good people of Lagelu/Akinyele Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning, Initiator of Olatoye Sugar Foundation (OSF) and Oyo state governorship aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Olatoye Temitope Sugar in his address, challenged the youth to make a positive change in their generation. He also encouraged African youth to get involved in taking the governance.

The first book ‘The Might of An African Youth in Leadership’ which was reviewed by Prof Kehinde Kester, Sub-Dean at the Post Graduate School, University of Ibadan, stated that, the timely book written by Hon. Sugar, contains 112 pages and 12 chapters.

According to the reviewer, ‘‘The book is an encouragement and also a clarion call to African youths especially Nigerians. Hon. Sugar says Nigerian youths can affect generations positively, as it is time to rule. The book cited examples of Nigeria past leaders who ruled in their prime age and present leaders in the world who are affecting their generation positively like, the youngest president in the world, 28-year-old Matteo Ciacci and The president of France, 39-year-old Emmanuel Macron. The book also emphasised the need for youth to participate in the affairs of the country because, the more youths get involved, the better Nigeria will become.’’

Meanwhile, the second book which was titled ‘They Won’t Tell You This About Sugar’ was collated by Dr. Hamzat and Chief Kola Ilori were the co-authors of the second book. Hon. Sugar stated that, ‘‘the duo carried out an-in-depth research on the type of person I am, they travelled a lot just to see that this piece became a reality.’’

The Peak of the event was the presentation of modern microwave and a mini fridge to the second runner and first runner up of the 2017 Oyo state beauty pageant competition by Hon. Olatoye Temitope Sugar.

The event was well co-ordinated by veterans in the entertainment industry and journalism field CEO Silverstone Communication, ace broadcaster Issac Brown, Famous Yoruba Actress Toyin Adegbola and Gboyega Lawale.
