The Public Relation Officer at the INEC office in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday, confirmed that, the Ekiti state Governorship election has commenced in full swing.

He made this known in an interview with CEOAfrica correspondent in Ekiti where he stated that, materials for election had been sent out to their various distribution centres as at 12noon on Friday July 13, to make movement to the polling units easy and quicker.

The PRO, however, defended the calls forwarded to him by some journalists, who reported late opening of the poll, as a systematic electronic procedures. He said ‘‘the electronic voting system is programmed with a timeframe, which enables it to operate between a set time.
For the time being, the process of this election can be said to have started peacefully.’’
