At the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Head Quarters of Ekiti state, there arose a serious provocation by the Action Democratic Party (ADP), leader, Comm. Larre Ogundere, alleging INEC of deliberate disenfranchising of ADP agents.

Comm. Ogundere made this known in an exclusive interview  with CEOAfrica correspondent at the INEC office in Ado Ekiti. He stated that, "despite fulfilling all constitutional requirements for accreditation of party agents, no tag has been given to agents of ADP at local government level, even as election is presently ongoing. Our agents are deprived and denied access in all the polling units".

He narrated efforts made by his party prior before now, and the fact that the documents for the tags were already signed by INEC.

He said, "I have been coming to INEC office for the past 4days, the man in charge said he has given everything to the Electoral Officers (EO) of each Local Government Area. But the EO when asked will tell you they cannot find it. There is a document in the INEC Office here, showing that the EO actually signed those documents, but the EO refused to release the tags to us. From the fillers we have, most of the EO have been actually compromised.’’

Comm. Ogundere further stated that, the EOs refused to give ADP party agents their tags, even as sensitive process is going on in each of the LG. ‘‘Ranging from distribution of ballot papers, and all our agents were denied access to that process. If you are not part and parcel of the process that metamorphosed into the election, then we cannot on our own give a nod to the entire process. It is synonymous to 6LGAs as we speak. I had requested for 177 tags, but INEC gave me 13 tags. Right now, I have seek audience with the Administrative Secretary and REC of INEC, they are all aware of the development. So, we will meet in the day during collation, when the EOs will be on ground. We will raise our own observation and let them defend.’’

However, as at press time, efforts to speak with Mr. Austine, the Election Party Monitoring (EPM), proved abortive
