PDP holds crucial 80th NEC/BoT meeting Monday

ABUJA- the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is presently holding an emergency 80th National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting at the National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza in Abuja.

In a notice issued late on Sunday night by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, the party stipulated the members of the two organs to attend the meeting which is fixed for 4 P.Mat the PDP national secretariat.

Although details of the emergency meeting  is a bit sketchy as at the time of going to press, correspondent gathered that the crucial agenda is the presentation of the report of the Ekiti governorship election which held penultimate Saturday as well as preparations for the forthcoming Osun gubernatorial polls.

Also on the cards is the number of Presidential aspirants on the platform of the party which the leadership considers too many.

The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ex- governors of Kaduna, Jigawa, Sokoto and Kano States, Ahmed Makarfi, Sule Lamido, Attahiru Bafarawa and Ibrahim Shekarau respectively; as well as Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki and businessman, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed are all in the race for the party’s sole Presidential ticket.
