Series of bomb explosions rocked the city of Mogadisu, capital of Somalia over the weekend, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

The explosives blasted shortly after residents broke their fast. Sources disclosed that the sounds of series of explosives with volley of gunfire stretched from the military bases of Somali forces to the downtown security checkpoints. At least, seven persons including two Somali federal government soldiers were reported to have wounded and the police forces immediately sealed the main road by stopping the public vehicles at security checkpoints.

Meanwhile, an Al Qaeda linked group, Al Shabaab claimed to be responsible for the bomb blast. This is one of the worst blasts witnessed recentl in Mogadisu.
