In a chat with CEOAfrica correspondence on some of the factors limiting student’s success in an examination, he said “reasons for failure in examination are systematic, they are interwoven, that there are learners’ factors (students’ issues), parents’ factors, government, even the curriculum that they are studying.”
He basically said that “larger factor is usually the leaner factor”, insisting that students no longer want to burn their mid night candle, but prefers micro wave answers in exam hall.
While analyzing the factors that affect the students, the instructor said some of the factors can be worked on, but “students are getting lazier, social distractions, non-concentration in examination, malpractices.
“Some parents, institutions, staff of education institute are partakers of this examination malpractice, that is why we say they are interwoven”.
In clarifying the “learners learning factors”, he listed some of the mistakes students make and the main reason why the seminar was organized.
He disclosed that “students non-preparedness, anxiety, not making note, not going to libraries, not reading good books, not doing practices, not getting friendly with syllabus they are preparing for, some are reading wrongly, some are reading contents that will not be tested for.
“They are so many learners centre factors why they are failing exam. That is majorly why this seminar is trying to adjust.”
He enjoined the students to be determined in order to cross any shores they meet on their ways in order to attain a great height in future.
