The Registrar of the Nigerian Army University,  Biu, Borno State, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has identified knowledge of history as a key ingredient in attaining success.
He made this known in an interview with CEO Africa  media team  in Abuja on Friday 24th of August 2018.
"In all I do, I always take history into cognisance because it influences my decision making process. Before I take decisions, I make reference to the past, build into what is happening now and then into the future. Once you have this at the back of your mind, discover that you will always succeed. When you take over an office, you need to find out why your predecessor succeeded or failed.
"As a historian, you need to ask these questions, why, when, who, where,what and how. When you ask these questions before taking a decision you will always be guided aright and you will not falter and even if you do it would be because we are not perfect as humans", he said.
He praised the efforts of the President of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN), Professor CBN Ogbogbo and his team for the efforts in making the government to reintroduce the study of history in our schools.
