A simmering crisis is rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako Federal Constituency, comprising  Etsako West, Etsako Central and Etsako East local government areas of Edo State, with a call by aggrieved party leaders in the area on Governor Adams Oshiomhole, to cancel the outcome of the recent congresses within 14 days, or they would be forced to defect to other political parties.

They also want the membership registration by the APC to be cancelled. The  well attended meeting attracted party leaders, the state  deputy chairman, Alhaji Usman Shagadi; the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency, Mr Abubakar Momoh; three former council chairmen from the area, namely:  Mr Godwin Eshieshie; Chief Alemoh Akhigbe and Kasimu Dokpesi.

Others in attendance at the meeting were APC Senatorial Woman Leader, Mrs. Bekilas Imisara;  Mrs. Evelyn Omorodion and former member of the Edo Sate House of Assembly, Honorable Lukman Mohammed.

Former chairman of  old Etsako and ex- Commissioner for Works, Evangelist Kasimu Dokpesi, who read the resolution at the end of the meeting, said the meeting was convened to express their displeasure at the party’s registration and the ward and LGA congresses.

They therefore demanded cancellation of the party’s registration of members and the wards and local government areas congresses, even as they gave the government 14 days ultimatum to effect the cancellation, or they would consider the option of defecting.

The aggrieved party leaders also gave Governor Oshiomhole 14 days ultimatum to correct the anomaly noticed in the congresses and the party’s membership registration just as they appealed to the national leadership of the party to wade into the issue.
