COLLEGE STUDENTS PROTEST OVER THE RAPE OF THREE GIRLS BY HOODLUMS IN ONDO

Disruption occurred in some parts of Akure, Ondo State Capital on Tuesday following the street protest by the students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, for the alleged rape of three female students of the school.

The angry students who caused congestion along the Fiwasaye/Owo Road preventing movement at about 10:30AM alleged that some hoodlums had on Monday night, invaded the Campus and raped the three students who were said to be preparing their exams.

The students while protesting were said to have rebuffed every effort by the police to stop the protest, singing various song to express anger about security situation in the campus and as well calling for the removal of Chief Security Officer (CSO).

The President of the Students’ Union of the College, Oladapo Akindaminu relating to newsmen on the incident said, the hoodlums attacked the ladies before they were raped, adding that the third lady was a bit lucky for she escaped being raped though she sustained serious injury.
