The Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has cleared 20,304 ex-workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to receive their severance package.
CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that this gesture was in fulfillment of the promise made by Mr. Benjamin Dikki, Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), and that the names of GENCO and PHCN Headquarter staffs were forwarded to the OAGF for the payment which amounted to N34, 585 billion.
It was also gathered from Mr. Godswill Igali, the Chairman, Implementation Committee on the settlement of PHCN staff terminal benefit, that other 16,366 staff of Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs) were also cleared on Tuesday by the auditors and are ready for transmission to the OAGF for payment of N84.5 billion
Mr. Igali also stated that more staff will be cleared by the auditors before the end of the week, disclosing that the payment of terminal benefits is a continuous process.
Dikki purported that the compilation is completed and the payroll sent to the Account General of the Federation (AGF), adding that people would begin to receive bank alert hopefully by next week.
