Five women made the INEC provisional list to vie for the three senatorial seats in Niger State.

The list which was unveiled in Minna yesterday has Hajiya Hadiza Mhmuda Kuta of the All Grassroots Alliance(AGA) and Zainab Kolawole Idris, National Concise Party (NCP) to battle for the Niger east senatorial district seat with their male counterparts.

In Niger south senatorial district, Safiya Baba Mohammed Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) and  Hajiya Binta Mohammed of People’s Trust  (PT) made the list, while Bilikusu Musa Alheri would contest for the Niger north senatorial district on the platform of Green Party of Nigeria(GPN).

The list shows that 16 political parties would file candidates for the senatorial seats with a total of 31 contestants making the INEC list.

Among the contestants, 11 would slug it out for the Niger east seat, while Niger south and North have 10 contestants each.

Report revealed that two out of the three sitting senators made list for their respective senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
