JONATHAN APPEALS TO POLITICIANS, ELDERS TO THINK TOWARDS UNITY

President Goodluck Jonathan advocates that political leaders, stakeholders and elders should desist from making provocative statements capable of dividing the country, but embrace positive remarks that will help build Nigeria.
President Jonathan speaking at the reception held in honour of Chairman, Board of Trustees BoT, of People Democratic Party PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, who marked his 80th birthday, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, lamented how unfortunate it appear for highly inflammable statements to be coming from elders, who witnessed the Civil War.
The President, at the event, described Anenih as a leader that had remained very relevant in the political landscape, adding that his success at 80 is something worth the celebration.
Further in his eulogy of Anenih, he acclaimed that the political icon has been vibrant one and has maintained a top status as a politician, adding the Tony Anenih has also proved himself a nationalist who is neither subscribe tribalism nor differentiate between religion and has stand tall in spite of challenges of politics.
He also used the platform to appeal to the elders of this great nation to sing a song of unity to bring promote peace in the country.
