Scores of civilians are fleeing their homes as Boko Haram insurgents are currently attacking a community near Maiduguri, the state capital, a local source said.

Residents of Polo area and Giwa Barracks are running as a result of gunfire exchange near their area.

 Ba’ Modu, a resident of Polo told our reporter that there is confusion in Bala Shuwari about 2 kilometers away to the area as a result.

“We are running now, there is heavy gunfire going on at Bale Shuwari. As I am speaking to you, there is confusion everywhere,” Modu told media outlet via Phone.
