The National body of the Nigeria Union of Journalist has described the death of Babatunde Oluwanike as a colossal lose for the NUJ and the nation at large.

The vice president of B Zone, Dele Atunbi while speaking in an interview with correspondent Jadesola Ajibola at the Day of Tribute organised for Babatunde Oluwanike at the FRCN Ibadan Network station, Ibadan said that late Oluwanike fought for the interest of the his members when he was alive as chairman of the union.

He however promised that NUJ will ensure that welfare of members is not neglected.

The state chairperson of Oyo state Nigerian Association of Women Journalist, Comrade Adekitan adeadgo has this to say,
