Former Oyo state Africa Democratic Congress, ADC youth leader, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye has cited lack of clear leadership and sense of direction as the reason for dumping the ADC for the PDP.

He made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with CEOAfrica earlier today. According to him, not having an overall leader has been a problem for the party.

He said, “I left ADC because, the party is like a vehicle with no direction, in any organisation or political party, there must be an overall leader. That is not the case with ADC which has about four leaders, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, Chf. Olayiwola Olakojo, Chf. Micheal Koleosho and Dr.  Busari Adebisi. Things would have worked out and moved fine if Senator Rasheed Ladoja was the leader of the party.

“Having four or five leaders means everybody have their own motive and interest. For a party that is just coming up, for it not to have local government executives or ward executives in all the 33 local government in Oyo state is a problem. I can say only about 5 out of 33 have their local government executive settled and that is the problem the party was facing before we had the primaries. Prior to the primaries, interests came up. The unity group had two senators; Ladoja’s group had only one senator. For the House of Representatives, the Unity group had eleven House of Representatives while Ladoja had three, which did not go down well with supporters of Baba Ladoja who considered the outcome as cheating. That is the reason why many supporters of Baba Ladoja decided to dump the party.”

He added that he had to yield to the call of the youths of the state to pursue the youth agenda under the umbrella of the PDP.

“I have been an activist, I have been in many movements, a former chairman of Association of Registered Sociologists Club, majority of our youths have been calling on me to come back to PDP and I can see from Engr. Seyi Makinde’s manifesto that he has a program for the youths, he has promised to provide up to 30,000 jobs if elected Governor of Oyo state. Therefore after several consultations, I decided and have informed my leader Senator Rasheed Ladoja that I’m moving back to PDP,” he stated.
