The Acting Executive Secretary of the African Academy of Languages, ACALAN, Dr. Lang Fafa Dampha and the able Senior Programme & Project Officer of the Academy, Dr. Babajide Ojo Johnson have thanked all participants of the just concluded workshop on "Harmonization of Kinyarwanda/Kirundi, Kiswahili, Luganda, Malagasy and Somali Vehicular Cross-border Languages".
They expressed their thanks yesterday at the Academy's secretariat, highlighting the contributions of the participants as fundamental to the success of the workshop.
The workshop which was held last week in Kampala was designed to harmonize the writing systems of Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda/Kirundi, Luganda, Malagasy and Somali cross-border languages, harmonize the differences in orthographic practice and develop a standard form of writing for each of the languages.
