The African Academy of Languages, ACALAN - a specialized linguistic arm of African Union, AU have called on the Head of States and Governments of AU member states in their ongoing campaign to develop and promote African languages.

The Academy thanked the Head of States and Governments of the AU member states for the support they have received in all their programs thus far while also calling for renewed support for all ACALAN's programs and projects going forward noting the a lot still needs to be done to re-position indigenous African languages in its rightful state.

ACALAN has been in the fore front of promoting and developing African languages in recent times, the academy has been actively working on harmonization of cross-border languages to ensure a standardize form of writing for all the languages if possible.
