Four Died in Early Morning Plane Crash at Somalia Airport

CEOAFRICA.com gathered from Somalia that a military aircraft crashlanded at the international airport in Mogadisu, Somalia capital and at least four people were reported dead.

According to sources, the plane belonged to the Ethiopian airforce and was carrying weapons and ammunition for the peacekeeping mission in Somalia run by the African Union.

 A release by AMISON, the body-in-charge of peacekeeping for AU states; “The AU force commander expressed his heartfelt condolences to the government and the people of Ethiopia following the loss of crew members.”

Airport workers said the blast could have happened due to explosive ammunition onboard the aircraft.

Sources also said the blaze was so much that firefighters couldn’t tackle it.
