The Primate of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, has called on Nigerians not to despair amid the challenges plaguing the country.

He said the world had known great travails in the past but came out stronger through the love of God, adding that Nigeria would survive, irrespective of the different problems, including attacks by terrorists in the northern region and the increasing number of persons displaced by such attacks.

The primate stated this during the Standing Committee Conference held in Minna, Niger State.

He also described the prevalence of ritual killings in the country as alarming and reprehensible.

Okoh said, “God who delivered Jehoshaphat from the menace of the Moabites and the Ammonites, who delivered Hezekiah and the city of Jerusalem from Sennacherib, his arrogant and defiant Rabshakeh, will deliver Nigeria.

“Nigerians are being pursued by an implacable foe. God is our fortress, our refuge, our help and our deliverer and He will help us at the break of day! Our God never sleeps and is watching what is going on and will surely come to the rescue of the oppressed.”
