EBONYI COMMISSIONER FOR ENVRONMENT SACKED

The Commissioner for Environment, Paul Okorie has been sacked by Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi, for alleged act of inconsistent in his office mandate.

This is contained in a statement signed by Chike Onwe, the commissioner for information and orientation, on Thursday in Abakaliki.

The statement directed Okorie to handover all government documents and property at his disposal to the ministry’s permanent secretary.

According to the statement, the removal took effect from Wednesday, August 7, 2013, as he ceases to be a member of the State Executive Council.

However this decision to remove Okorie, who was the commissioner for works and transport in the state from 2007-2011, was said to be reached on Wednesday during the council meeting.
